There is a way to remove pesky programs. You can use this if you delete a program and you get a nag that a program could not be started. Type in msconfig. Click on services and look for the item there. Like sscserve.exe and uncheck the box. This works for a lot of hard to remove programs. The first thing I do is see if it is running in the Windows Task Manager.
Press Control, Alt & Delete and look for it in the processes tab. If it is there then right click on it and click 'End Process' Then you can remove the file/program. Both worth a try. But I would try the Control, Alt & Delete method first.
Jan 24, 2018 - Most companies, regardless of their profile, use at least one printer on a daily basis, and depending on the number of employees, this can.
I agree with you about this program removal. It is an insidious beastie and is difficult to remove. In addition to looking in the MSCONFIG 'services' box it is worthwhile checking 'start up' as well as it can hide in there. After doing this go to program files and it can be removed by deleting the SSCservice utility.exe file then delete the folder in program files. Empty your recycle bin or shred the contents with AVG.

As a final double check that it is still not lurking somewhere run REGEDIT and select 'find' and enter in SSCService. If it finds anything delete the key. However I found nothing after using MSCONFIG. Last check is to go to Program files and make sure it is still gone! The trouble with SSCService Utility is that if it installed correctly it works quite well on Epson printers. If it gets corrupted it is a very difficult program to uninstall.
